Resources

  • Collection
The Law Library has over a third of a million volumes housed at four locations. All branches carry an extensive collection of print and electronic legal materials. In addition to primary legal sources, the library also carries a large variety of secondary sources to assist with the interpretation and application of the law.

  • E-Resources
Contains links to databases available through our library with a short description of the database content. Most databases are only accessible while at one of our library locations. However, a few databases are accessible without being physically present in the library.

  • Government Documents
The San Diego County Public Law Library is a selective Federal and California State depository. As a selective depository we receive and provide access to legislative and other law related materials published by the United States and California government in a variety of formats.

  • Research Guides
The Reference Librarians have prepared Research Guides on a variety of commonly requested topics. These Research Guides will direct you to electronic and print resources to get you started with your legal research.

  • Motion Guides
These motion guides are general examples. You will need to edit them and add information specific to your circumstances. We cannot guarantee that these samples will meet your needs because laws and procedures frequently change. Also, your situation may involve factors requiring different procedures or forms. Please note, general word processing skills and legal knowledge specific to your situation may be required to adapt these examples. To obtain legal advice, or for help in adapting the forms to your situation, consult an attorney.

  • Web Resources
Helpful links to websites and search engines. Websites include legally related resources for San Diego, California, Federal, Law Libraries, and Self-Help organizations.

  • Información en Español
Esta sección le da enlaces Web de recursos legales en Español.
