County Public Law Library in offering "Lawyer @ Your Library" program
to public libraries.

AUSA Mitch Dembin will talk
about current trends in computer crime, particularly with regard to identity theft,
some of the applicable laws and how we can protect ourselves.
About the speaker. Mitch is in his third tour as an Assistant
U.S. Attorney in San Diego and currently serves as the Computer Hacking and Intellectual
Property crime coordinator. Before rejoining the government in April of 2005,
Mitch was the Chief Security Advisor for Microsoft Corporation. Mitch came to
Microsoft from EvidentData, Inc., a firm specializing in computer forensics, digital
evidence and computer security where he served as its president. Before that,
he served for 15 years as a federal prosecutor in San Diego, California and in
Boston, Massachusetts. He has been a cybercrime prosecutor since 1991.
Mitch is credited with having
founded the San Diego Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, a national prototype,
which provides assistance to the federal, state and local law enforcement agencies
serving San Diego and Imperial Counties. He regularly provides training regarding
high technology crime and the law to law enforcement and private industry security
professionals in the United States and abroad.
